Niagara Tuskers lifts the Hamilton District Cricket League Elite Division Trophy this year, by defeating Brantford Elite by 23 runs. The final match which at Niagara Cricket Center has all the flavours of a a perfect nail bitting contest. Brantford Elite won the toss and the chose to field first to take advantage of the windy conditions. However, Tuskers offered a decent total of 200 runs, with a great start from Midhun(17 form 47) and Vinay Kumar(66 from 76) followed by sensible innings from Helin, Mathew and Unnikrishnan. Brantford Elite started well, though the Midhun take advantage of the pitch and destroyed their middle order with his orthodox off break bowling. Brantford Elite concluded their innings with a total of 177 in 36.1 overs.
This is the second HDCL title for HDCL, the first one was HDCL T25 in 2023 which was the very first season for the team. Skipper Jithin Lohi said, “I am so proud to lead such a group of talented players and if we channel their skills in the right direction, we can do wonders as this is our second title in the first two years..!!”
